Davis Institute for Artificial Intelligence featured on NPR’s Marketplace

Colby’s new Davis Institute for AI was featured on NPR’s national show and podcast Marketplace Tech. During the segment, President Greene said how “in 10 years, my sense is if you’re not in AI in a big way, for most colleges it’s going to be very hard to be relevant.” He also commented that for students, AI won’t be a plus factor. “It’s going to be an absolute expectation,” and that “we need to have a whole cohort of students from different backgrounds and experiences who are really leading AI and not being led by it.”

Colby Receives $3.35-Million Gift for the Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts

In recognition of the gift, the building’s forum will be named in the donors’ honor. The forum, at the heart of the building, will be a dynamic, flexible space designed to connect the community through a range of uses, from informal gatherings to student performances and exhibitions. The Gordon Center, slated to open in fall 2023, is the largest academic building project in the College’s history.
