Leonard named to Lincoln Jury
John  J. and Cornelia V. Gibson Professor of History Elizabeth Leonard has been named to the 2007 Lincoln Prize Jury.  The jury is selected annually from nationally and internationally known Civil War historians; serving with Leonard are historians George Rable and Loren Schweninger.  The jury will choose the three finalists for the Lincoln Prize, the largest book prize in American History, awarded by the Lincoln and Soldiers Institute at Gettysburg College and funded by the Gilder/Lehrman Institute of American History.  Last year's prizewinner was Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals. 

Leonard was also interviewed for the documentary "Full Metal Corset: Secret Soldiers of the Civil War," regarding women soldiers in the Civl War, to air on March 24 at 7 p.m. , on the History Channel.
 
Brill Taps Taylor for Editor-in-Chief
Larissa TaylorProfessor of History Larissa Taylor is  editor-in-chief of the upcoming Brill's Encyclopedia of Pilgrimage in the Middle Ages.  Her  current projects are a biography of Joan of Arc for Yale University Press; and an ancient and medieval history sourcebook for Prentice Hall
