Q: Can I particiapate in Chorale and also sing in an a cappella group?
A: Of course! Several Chorale members participate in both; they find that the singing skills they learn and use in Chorale are often helpful in a singing group, and that the combination of the two experiences is rewarding.
Q: If I audition successfully for Chorale, do I need to audition the following year?
A: No; once you've been accepted into the Chorale, you will not need to reaudition.
Q: Are auditions held at the start of the second semester?
A: Students entering Colby as February Freshmen may audition at the start of the second semester, but there are usually only a few places for new members available at that time.
Q: Are there opportunities for solo singing in the Chorale?
A: Yes. There are many opportunities for solo singing within larger works sung by the chorus; solo singers are chosen from the ranks of Chorale members. Auditions will be announced in advance for these solos.
