Farnham Writers' Center Staff 2007-08
|
Professor Tracy Hamler Carrick, Director Professor Carrick has taught expository writing in college and community settings for fifteen years. Some days she looks for truth in the words of feminist poet and activist Adrienne Rich: “You must read and write as if your life depended upon it.” Other days she finds it in the radiant rhythms of humble poet Wilbur the pig: “Isn’t it great, that I articulate? Isn’t it grand, that you can understand?” |

Jess Acosta, '11 Jess is a HELLA busy sociology/WGSS double major with a flare for physical activity and explicit and inappropriate comments. Convinced of the legitimacy of her own Northern California linguistic preferences, she spends most of her time fighting the oppressive forces who favor "wicked" as an expletive. Or, at least, that's what she said. |
Mike Barrett, '09 Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Doctor Mike Barrett stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Emilie Coulson, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Mike can see and hear. And so Doctor Barrett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home. |
