The assassination of President John F. Kennedy spurred the American people to put down their newspapers and turn on their televisions to watch the tragic events on November 22, 1963 unfold in real-time. Journalists relied on pay phones and bulletins to their home bureaus to get the news on the air. Things have certainly changed in the last 50 years. What would it have been like if those same journalist had smartphones and access to Twitter and Facebook feeds? Our panelists will examine the way crisis reporting has evolved into the new century with technological advances and the public's ever-growing appetite for instantaneous information.
