The Colby Volunteer Center exists to provide each member of the Colby community with the opportunity to have a positive influence on the lives of others through volunteerism in the greater Waterville area. The CVC aims to increase awareness of the importance of volunteer work as a social responsibility as well as a form of self-development and education.

Community Updates

The Helping Hands Across Americs canned food drive was a success! Thanks to the efforts of the Colby community, we were able to break last year's record and collect over 8400 pounds of food! Special congratulations go out to the Men's Crew Team, who won the athletics competition and collected over 35 pounds of food per team member.

Hardy Girls Healthy Women is bringing scary back with the first annual Freaky 5K Run & Walk on October 24th. Put on your scariest costume and join the fun. The event is being hosted on the Colby campus, and is designed to raise funds for the Waterville-based girls' and women's empowerment center. Prizes will be awarded for Scariest Costume, Most Creative Costume, and more. Click here to register for the event.

The Waterville Public Library needs your help! The library, which has been a part of the Waterville community for decades, is raising money for badly-needed renovations to the historic Carnegie building. The library is one of the few remaining cultural centers in the Waterville area, and serves the needs of thousands of low-income residents. Click here to support the campaign.

The CVC is partering with DIning Services again this year for the Helping Hands Across America canned food drive. Last year, thanks to the efforts of the Colby community, over 8,000 pounds of food was collected for area food banks. Colby's goal this year is 16,000 pounds! Click here to get more info on how to help stop hunger in your community.
