The Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter serves breakfast and dinner each day to its guests. Volunteers are needed to assist with these meals. The number of guests being served can range from as few as three or four to as many as fifteen. In 2007, the shelter hosted 450 adults and 150 children and served over 12,000 meals. Guests stay anywhere from a night to a few months. To learn more about this program, read the March 2008 Echo article about Colby Volunteers at the shelter.
