Students interested in community service and health care have the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of departments at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit in Waterville. Common responsibilities include attending to medical professional and patient requests, transporting patients, acting as a patient liason, organizational tasks, etc. Volunteers are a vital part to the efficiency and quality of care at MaineGeneral. This is a great opportunity for pre-health students to gain clinical experince while contributing to the community in a positive and meaningful manner.
Scheduling
Three to four hours one morning or afternoon per week; Volunteers are a vital part to the efficiency and quality of care at MaineGeneral. Therefore, volunteers are required to make a minimum of a one semester commitment.
