Scott Shane, national security reporter for the Washington Bureau of The New York Times, will speak about his experience as part of the team that broke the WikiLeaks story in Fall 2010. 

Scott Shane reports on national security for The New York Times. A member of the team covering the WikiLeaks embassy cables, Shane began working at The New York Times in 2004 and has reported about the nature of the terrorist threat, the reorganization of intelligence agencies, the government’s secret effort to reclassify historical documents, the explosion in federal contracting and the Justice Department’s secret legal opinions approving harsh interrogation techniques.

He is also the author of a book on the Soviet collapse called Dismantling Utopia: How Information Ended the Soviet Union.
