Panel Discussion with Winifred Tate, Adam Isacson, and 2007 Oak Fellow Nancy Sanchez

Adam Isacson has worked on Latin American security issues, particularly U.S. policy toward Central America and Colombia, since 1995 at the Center for International Policy. He has been to Colombia more than twenty-five times, including thirteen of the country’s thirty-two departments. Mr. Isacson holds an MA in International Relations from Yale University. He worked previously for the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress in San José, Costa Rica. Mr. Isacson’s many publications can be found att http://www.ciponline.org/colombia/cipanal.htm
Winifred Tate is adjunct faculty at the Watson Institute. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow with the Politics, Culture, and Identity Program, as well as a visiting scholar at the Anthropology Department and adjunct professor at the School for International Service at American University. Before that, she was a senior fellow at the Washington Office on Latin America. She received her BA in Latin American Studies from Wesleyan University and her MA and PhD in anthropology from New York University. She is the author and coauthor of scholarly articles and papers in her field. Dr. Tate will be joining the Colby faculty as an anthropologist in the fall of 2008.
