Access to Computers and Information Resources ComputersBorrowing Privileges Colby Access to Computers and Information Resources
All computers in the Libraries are for academic, instructional, research, administrative and public service purposes. Colby users (students, faculty, and staff) have priority access to the computers. Visitors are permitted to use the publicly accessible computers to access the Internet and library resources that are available on campus with the understanding that they may be requested to logoff if a Colby related person needs access. Minors using the network must be supervised by an adult.
The Colby Libraries purchase and license digital information resources to meet the curricular and information needs of students, faculty, and staff. Access to these resources is governed by the license agreement for each product. The Colby Libraries strive for licenses that will permit access to walk-in visitors. Off campus access to these materials is limited to faculty, staff, and currently registered students. License agreements do not permit off-campus access to alumni, former employees, or the general public. The Colby Libraries strictly adhere to the license agreements it signs.
