Holds and Recalls Got Questions? Need Answers? Just Ask!

Holds
A hold may be placed on materials which are currently checked out. This does not shorten the loan period but does instruct the library to place the material on the hold shelf when it is returned and generates an e-mail notice which is sent to the requestor notifying him/her that the item is available at Circulation Desk.

Recalls
An item may be recalled for students, faculty, and staff after it has been on loan for two weeks. A notice will be sent to the patron who has the item and it must be returned within five days or it will be treated as an overdue item and a fine of $1.00 per day will be charged.

Holds and recalls may be placed at any of the circulation desks.
