The Colby Libraries provides a tobacco–free environment for all employees, patrons, vendors, outside contractors and other visitors to the library facilities.

Smoking tobacco products or other substances in all library facilities is prohibited. Smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of all Library entrances and exits. Patrons who wish to briefly exit the library to smoke outside the building should do so in a way that does not force other patrons, entering or leaving the library, to inhale second hand smoke.

Use of chewing tobacco, snuff or any similar product in the library facilities is prohibited. The spitting of tobacco or similar products into a cup or similar device is not allowed in the library.
