How to Apply to Colby Off-Campus Programs

Colby Programs Abroad

Colby College currently manages study abroad programs in Dijon, France; Salamanca, Spain; and St. Petersburg, Russia. All programs are overseen by the Office of Off-Campus Study at Colby College.

Applying to Colby Off-Campus Programs:
Colby programs abroad are open to any student, regardless of major, who meets the specific program requirements outlined below. Application forms may be obtained by contacting:

Eligibility:
 
Colby in Dijon
For students from Colby or any other college or university who have an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.7 (on a four-point scale). The program is appropriate for students who may be French majors and have had sophomore-level language and literature courses. It also accommodates students who have had less French (at least one semester is required) and are going to France for a language acquisition semester.
 
Colby in Salamanca (Integrated Program)
Accepts students for their junior year with any major. Students from any institution may apply for the full academic year or either semester. In most areas in the humanities and social sciences, students will be able to find courses in their major.

Applicants to the Integrated Program must have an overall GPA of at least 2.7 (on a four-point scale) and have taken at least one advanced Spanish composition course and a literature course, with an average (in Spanish courses) of at least B.
 
Colby in Salamanca (Language Acquisition Program)
Open to students in good standing who have a cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher and have had at least one semester of college Spanish (or three years of high school Spanish).
 
Deadlines:

Colby Students
Completed applications must be submitted to OCS by March 15, 2009 for study during either semester of the 2009-2010 academic year.

Non-Colby Students
Completed applications must be submitted to OCS by March 15, 2008 for study during the fall semester or academic year 2008 and by October 1, 2008 for study during the spring semester 2009. 

For the Academic Year 2009-2010, applications must be submitted to OCS by March 15, 2009 for study during the fall semester or academic year 2009 and by October 1, 2009 for study during the spring semester 2010.
