The Churchill Scholarship

Description
The Churchill Fellowship provides full support including a stipend to a student for one year of graduate work in science, math, or engineering at Cambridge University.  Students reside at Churchill College in Cambridge and can choose form a wide variety of programs.  Cambridge University is the MIT of the UK with many distinguished faculty and long history of scientific discovery from Newton to Crick and Watson.
 
Eligibility
Applicants must be a senior or recent graduate from an eligible institution. Applicants should be majoring in science, mathematics, or engineering.
 
Citizenship
Must be U.S. citizen.
 
Duration
Nine months or twelve months, depending upon selected program.
 
Deadline
October 15, 2008
 
Amount
The scholarship covers all University and College fees (about $25,000) plus a living allowance (£10,000 for 9-month program, £12,000 for a 12-month program) and up to $1,000 for travel to and from the UK.  There is also a possible $2,000 Special Research Grant.  The total dollar value is approximately $44,000 to $50,000.
