Roberts Row Renovations

Artist's rendition of proposed renovation to Roberts Row dorm
Colby’s comprehensive dorm renovations program begun in the mid-1990s moved to Roberts Row in 2008, with Pierce and Perkins-Wilson (the former Zeta Psi and Phi Delta Theta fraternities respectively) as the first two residence halls undergoing for major overhauls.

A $4.7-million project expanded and remodeled the two buildings in time for students to move in the fall 2008 semester. Enhancements included an addition to each building to accommodate an elevator, staircase, and study rooms.

There are seven former fraternity houses on campus that were turned into residence halls in the 1980s, and the College intends to renovate them all in coming years. The long-range plan includes conversion of the Roberts Building to residential space.

The drawing shows, on the right side of the image, the new addition to Perkins-Wilson, typical of what will be added to each Roberts Row dorm.
