Emerging Leaders Conference
Last fall 25 students participated in the inaugural Office of Campus Life Emerging Leaders Conference. Students were invited to engage in group-development exercises as well as facilitated self-reflection to explore how their individual leadership styles interrelate with others during group processes. The next ELC will be held in the fall of 2012. Be sure to check in with Campus Life for more details.
Organizational Leadership Opportunities
Are you interested in providing a leadership development workshop for your club or organization? The Office of Campus Life can help you to develop a workshop specifically fulfilling the needs of your group. Possible topics could include mission and goal setting, group communication, leading effective meetings, event planning at Colby, or succession planning for executive board turnover. Or a general workshop to increase group cohesiveness can be designed. Contact Paul Spangle at pspangle@colby.edu to talk about establishing a unique workshop for your club today.
The Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Campus Life recognize the importance of leadership development in a student's holistic educational experience at Colby. Students will have opportunities to engage in both leadership education and leadership practice.
