Apply to be a COOT Leader

Campus Life is seeking individuals with strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities to lead incoming first-year and transfer students during the Class of 2017 orientation. Outdoor experience is not necessary to apply for a leadership position as we provide a wide range of trip offerings suited to all experience levels—leaders and participants alike. A genuine interest in providing a valuable and meaningful experience for incoming students is one of the key qualifications for a COOT leader role.

Outdoor Education Programs

COOT

COOT (Colby Outdoor Orientation Trips) is an outdoor-based student orientation program that is required of all First Year Colby College students. COOT trips are designed to be fun and engaging while preparing students for their transition to living and learning on campus.

Colby Outing Club

The Colby Outing Club is an entirely student-run organization that exists solely to get people outdoors. We run trips every weekend, maintain an extensive inventory of outdoor equipment, and are always excited to help you plan your own expedition.

Colby Mountaineering Club

The Mountaineering Club is a forum for all those interested in pursuing adventures in the vertical world, whether your medium is rock, ice or plastic.
