ROOM DIMENSIONS

OCCUPANCY

Colby offers residences ranging from 6 person rooms down to singles.  All first years are assigned to doubles or triples.  After completing their first year, students will particpate in the housing lottery and choose their own room.

 

FURNITURE

The college provides the following furniture for each student:

*Bed and extra long twin mattress

*Desk and desk chair

*Wardrobe/closet   

*Dresser 

 

WINDOWS

*Window shades or blinds are furnished for each window. If you intend to bring your own curtains, please refer to the following dimensions and understand that dorm damage charges may apply if you use something other than tension rods to hang your curtains:

• 40"w x 55"h: Coburn, Dana, Drummond, East Quad (Butler, Champlin, Small), Foss 3rd Floor, Goddard-Hodgkins, Grossman,
  
• Mary Low, Perkins-Wilson, Pierce, Piper, Treworgy, West Quad (Chaplin, Pepper, Robins), and Woodman

• 74"w x 50"h: Leonard, Marriner, Sturtevant, Taylor, and Williams
• 54"w x 31"h: Averill, Foss 2nd Floor, and Johnson
• 43"w x 69" h and 29.5"w x 69"h: Anthony, Mitchell, and Schupf 1st Floor
• 33.5"w x 69"h, 31"w x 69"h, and 29.5"w x 69"h: Anthony, Mitchell, Schupf 2nd and 3rd Floors

FLOORS AND CARPETING

*All of our rooms have vinyl-tiled floors. If you wish to bring a carpet with you, a standard 9' x 12' will be sufficient.

 

KEYS AND HALL ACCESS

*Upon arrival you will receive a key for your room

*Along with a key you will receive your ColbyCard, which grants you access to your building, and also acts as a debit card that can be used on campus

*Please keep your key and I.D. card with you and your door locked at all times.

 

SERVICES

*Basic cable TV service is provided.

*Each student will have access to his/her own port that is networked with Ethernet (10-base-T).

BEDS
