Staff members in the Office of Career Services advise students throughout their four years of college and help steer them toward appropriate and satisfying careers. They can assist students with writing résumés, finding January and summer internships, the job search process, and a host of other career-related activities.
Pre-professional advisors assist students contemplating careers in business, law, government, education, or one of the health care professions. Students interested in one of these fields should consult the appropriate chairperson as early as possible. Cate Talbot Ashton, associate director of career services (Eustis 105, ext. 4140), is chair of the Health Professions Preparation Committee. She provides guidance for careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and other health care professions. She also acts as the MBA advisor. In addition, Ms. Talbot Ashton is the pre-law advisor; Mark Tappan, associate professor of education (Lovejoy 350, ext. 4426), advises students on careers in education.
