Student Financial Services assists with the financial needs of enrolled students. Payment of charges on the College student bill, financial aid and related matters are key functions of this department. Financial Information

Charges for the fall of 2011 semester will be billed no earlier than July 1, 2011. Financial information pertaining to student health insurance, optional tuition refund insurance, a third-party payment plan, and federal loans is summarized in a financial preview letter. Please click here to view this letter. Students are able to view their Student Account Statement online 24/7 from their myColby Portal. According to federal regulations, students must provide authorization for parents to access the Student Account Statement or discuss financial matters with our office. These financial permissions can be granted under the 'Finances' tab of the student's myColby Portal.

Federal Student Loan Request Form

 Students interested in borrowing a federal student loan must submit the Federal Loan Request Form to document their decision to borrow. Please read about federal student loan borrowing and loan limits, before making any decisions to borrow. Remember, Federal (student) Stafford, and (parent) PLUS Loans will show "tentative" on the student account statement within 7 days of receiving a completed Loan Request Form. Federal grants and loans as well as institutional grant will be posted to the student's account no earlier than 10 business days before the first day of classes each semester.

Aid Application Deadline for Returning Students
Colby Financial Aid Renewal Applications for the 2011-12 school year were mailed home in February 2011. The deadline to apply for financial aid for the 2011-12 academic year is April 15, 2011. There will be a $500 grant reduction for late applications.  Click here for more info about the application process. Aid applications will be reviewed in the order in which they become complete. Students will receive an e-mail message with instructions on how to view the requests on the student's MyColby portal under the Finances tab in early June. Students must log in to see the Finances tab.
Student Health Insurance

The Student Health Registration form is now unavailable. Coverage for the 2011-12 plan began on August 1, 2011 and continues through July 31, 2012 . Questions concerning health benefits or claims can be directed to the Cross Agency at 1-800-537-6444.
