Request Colby Emergency Response

 
Requesting CER:
  • Dial 5-9-1-1 from any on campus phone (207-859-5911 from an off-campus phone) or push the red button on any blue call boxes located around campus.
  • Give the dispatcher the exact location of the patient. Include building, room number, etc.
  • Calmly tell the dispatcher the nature of the emergency - what happened and why CER is needed.
  • Be sure to alert the dispatcher if the patient is unconscious, not breathing, or bleeding severely.
  • Give the dispatcher the number from which you are calling, or a number where you can be reached in the event that Security or CER needs more information while they are en-route.
  • Always let the dispatcher hang up before you.
 

 Some Comments About Calling CER:

  • While CER is dispatched by, and often responds with, Colby Security we are in NO way a disciplinary body. CER is ONLY responsible for and concerned with the medical situation present.
  • CER rescuers are trained to the same standards as BLS ambulance personnel.
  • All medical personnel, CER members included, are held to high requirements of maintaining patient confidentiality. Anything witnessed or learned on scene is considered confidential. CER maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism to secure an appropriate patient-rescuer interaction that is unique to the call, and will not effect later interactions with that individual.
  • Please remember that CER is here to make an informed decision about the medical necessity of the situation. Please do not hesitate to dispatch us.
