Each fall, Colby offers benefitted employees the opportunity to review and make changes to their benefit elections. The enrollment period for 2013 benefits opens on Friday, October 26th and closes on Friday, November 16, 2012. In 2013, Colby's health care provider will continue to be CIGNA HealthCare. Employee contributions will not increase for the sixth year in a row. Click here to see a brief summary of the key highlights for 2013. Please plan to attend one of our information sessions!
CIGNA's plan options include:
PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for medical or dependent care, remember you need to re-enroll in these every year. Provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) include a reduction in the allowable limits for a medical FSA. In 2013, the amount you may contribute to a medical FSA will decrease to $2,500. Dependent care FSA limits will remain $5,000 in 2013. To see some of the impacts of the ACA, click here. REMINDER: As of January 1, 2011, you are no longer able to use health spending accounts to pay for most over-the-counter drugs and medicines unless you have a doctor’s prescription. You will not need a prescription for insulin and diabetic supplies. Click here for a list of eligible expenses, including items requiring a doctor's prescription. Again in 2013, if you enroll in the CIGNA Choice Fund (HSA), you may choose to contribute to a Limited Purpose Medical Flexible Spending Account. Click here for more details. Also, if you would like to participate in the Vision Plan (VSP), you need to re-enroll in that every year, as well. The monthly Vision Plan rates for 2013 remain unchanged, at $7.76/month for employee coverage or $16.68/month for family coverage. Our current life insurance rates remain in effect in 2013, but keep in mind that contributions towards the age-based life insurance may change, if your age is now in a new age group. For more information on Colby's benefits, click here. Representatives from CIGNA Health Care will be joining Colby HR to review our benefit programs, provide additional information and answer questions. Depending on the number of questions, the information sessions may last up to 60 minutes and will highlight health care options, the VSP vision plan, life insurances, and flexible spending accounts.
