American Studies - Visiting Assistant Professor

The American Studies Program at Colby College invites applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor in American Studies, beginning Fall 2012.  We seek an Americanist with a specialty in visual culture. The position carries a five-course load.  A Ph.D. in American Studies or other closely related interdisciplinary field in hand by August 2012 is required. The successful applicant will teach core courses in American Studies (including the introductory course, a junior-level methods course, and/or a senior seminar), the history of photography, and electives in visual culture.
