ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS STRATEGY AND ANALYSIS

Full-Time, 12-Month, Exempt, Salaried, Administrative Staff Appointment

 

We are currently seeking an individual who would like to help Colby reach exciting new heights by leading all analysis for admissions and financial aid. He or she is responsible for aggregating data from numerous sources, developing strategies based on relevant data and market trends, and implementing segmented communications initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Associate Director of Admissions Strategy and Analysis also manages all aspects of data security.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and analyze outcome assessments to effectively evaluate outreach programs, financing strategies, and communications efforts
  • Conduct analyses including data mining, market segmentation, and predictive modeling
  • Coordinate and prioritize projects including the identification of operational processes, establishment of a robust data plan, and a regular schedule of reporting
  • Develop segmented outreach and communications initiatives to leverage variable data marketing strategies
  • Maintain the integrity and security of admissions and financial aid data
  • Oversee the integration of Common Application data with workflow processing systems and Student Information System (SIS)
  • Implement and manage communication workflows for all changes in status and relevant communications with prospective students and applicants from inquiry to enrollment
  • Provide oversight and documentation for proper data collection procedures
  • Ensure data integrity by implementing rigorous testing and validation techniques
  • Oversee the current Student Information System and workflow processing system
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python, SPSS, or Stata strongly preferred
  • Previous work with the admissions software Slate or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Prior experience with predictive modeling using regression or logistic regression preferred
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and experience developing reporting dashboards preferred
  • Strong foundation in data collection, reporting, and statistical analysis; experience analyzing complex data sets
  • Proficiency with technology and fluency using databases
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is essential
  • Collaborative, problem-solving skills and the demonstrated ability to design and improve systems strongly preferred
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, and technically proficient
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong, self-motivated work ethic, and competitive spirit
  • Talent and confidence to exercise discretion while working independently, as well as the commitment to working as part of a team, are expected
  • Proven ability to work with a wide variety of people, high energy, creative initiative, and flexibility are essential
KEY RELATIONSHIPS: General office and campus environment. Duties require that employee interact with students, faculty and staff, vendors, and outside constituencies.

PHYSICAL EFFORT/ENVIRONMENT: Position involves sitting, although frequent movement is necessary. Walking, standing, bending, twisting, and occasional lifting required. Computer usage involving repetitive hand/wrist motion is also necessary.
