The Research Technician will be a part-time, temporary benefitted position. The selected candidate will work to establish a schedule with the Supervisor that will allow 4 – 5 hours worked on a daily basis between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

One opening for laboratory technician to assist in project-oriented research in the regulation of a biochemical pathway in a microorganism. Technician would be responsible for conducting experiments related to the research and for ordering and maintaining equipment and laboratory supplies. Technician would also be expected to occasionally assist undergraduates with use of scientific instrumentation. Applicants must be willing to work independently and communicate effectively with the principal investigator. Clear attention to detail with accurate record keeping is required. Technician may also have creative input into the research as abilities dictate.

Applicants should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with some experience working in a research laboratory setting. Technicians should have knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology basic concepts. Proficiency with data analysis in a spreadsheet program (such as Microsoft Excel) is required.
