Project Support Technician - Physical Plant Department
Fiscal Year/40 Hours Per Week
Hours 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
Occasional overtime particularly in the spring during student move out

This position will provide administrative support to the capital planning and construction offices in Physical Plant. Duties will include gathering data, preparing reports, processing contracts, handling purchase orders and invoices, conducting room condition inspections, preparing correspondence, and maintaining files. Work involves the frequent exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Frequent verbal and written communication is required within the College and with outside individuals and agencies. Qualifications include: three or more years of previous office experience in a related environment; a high school degree, post-secondary education preferred including seminars or related courses; extensive computer skills, experience using Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, database applications, email and the Internet, as well as an interest and ability to learn new programs; experience with budgets required; experience with contracts preferred; a working knowledge of business English, proofreading, and spelling skills required; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy are critical; initiative in assuming responsibilities and the ability to work independently; strong ability to multi-task is essential; ability to work as a member of a diverse community is also essential.
