The Department of Psychology at Colby College has a tenure-track position in Clinical or Experimental Psychopathology at the Assistant Professor level beginning September 1, 2010. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an active and sustained program of research that contributes to the global effort to advance psychological knowledge, to involve Colby’s exceptional undergraduates in that research, to supervise undergraduate independent study, and to teach with passion and a commitment to excellence. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and advanced courses in the candidate’s area of research interest, along with advising of undergraduates interested in pursuing careers in health-related fields. The specific area of research interest is open; however, a research interest in emotion, ability to contribute to the department’s methodology and statistics offerings, and/or an interest in cross-cultural or multicultural issues is desirable. The Ph.D. should be completed by starting date. The teaching load for the year is four courses in addition to segments of a team-taught introductory course and supervision of senior projects.
