SECURITY OFFICER

Part-time position with benefits

The security officer will provide personal safety and security services for students, faculty, staff and visitors. The position includes a wide variety of duties including; foot and vehicle patrol of the campus, providing routine services such as room and building lockouts, safety escorts, locking and walkthroughs of academic and administrative buildings as well as residence halls, parking enforcement, etc. The successful candidate will be expected to respond to calls for service in a timely and professional manner, support and enforce college policies, and work effectively as a member of the security staff and as a member of a diverse community. Qualifications include: High School Diploma required, Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred; campus security experience preferred; ability to perform duties in a flexible, non-confrontational environment; computer proficiency necessary; advanced First Aid or Emergency Medical Technician experience desirable; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to use a two-way radio and base station is necessary; valid driver’s license required and must be eligible to be certified by the College’s automobile insurance carrier.
