Suggestions for student computer services are outlined on the 2013 "Computer Use at Colby and Purchase Recommendations for First-year and Continuing Students". This document is an overview of issues you need to be aware of concerning the computing environment at Colby, especially as it relates to the decisions that students and their families face regarding possible purchase of a computer
All Colby owned computer hardware and software purchases must be made through ITS. If you have questions about hardware or software purchases please contact Suzette Davidson (x4201) or email@example.com.
Student InformationResidence halls on campus are equipped with wired and wireless Internet connections. From your room you can access the Internet, e-mail and printers in the public labs, including Lovejoy, Olin and Miller Street. Students can use Colby licensed software from the Software Library. (SCS) which is the contact for students and their computing needs at Colby.
Faculty and Staff Workstation Support
The Faculty and Staff Support Center (FSSC) is the primary contact for faculty and staff computing needs for Colby owned computer equipment (designated by the blue ID sticker on the computer, printer, monitor, etc). The FSSC provides essential operating system, software and hardware troubleshooting. We do not provide support for personally owned computer equipment.
