CMR - Long Distance Dialing

Colby telephones are individually set to either allow or not allow long distance dialing.  Generally, public use phones and phones in residential rooms do not allow direct long distance dialing but long distance calls can be made with the use of a prepaid calling card. 

Direct long distance calls can be made from most office phones.  To make a long distance call, press 9 to get an off campus line, then 1 and then the number including the applicable area code or country code.  (Phones set for long distance dialing can also make international calls.)  Long distance charges are tracked by the calling extension and are billed back to the appropirate department.
