Mac 10.4 - Adding a Printer via IP Printing

  1. Open the Printer Setup Utility from Applications -> Utilities or on the Dock
  2. Click Add
  3. On the Toolbar click IP Printer 
  4. Protocol > Choose HP Jet Direct - Socket 
  5. Address > Type the printer IP address found on the brightly colored sticker on the printer you wish to use
  6. Print Using > Choose the appropriate Printer Type from the pull down list
  7. Choose the appropriate Model Name from the list
  8. Click Add

  1. Select the appropriate Installable Options - Most printers have Tray 3 and Duplex Unit
  2. Click Continue

  1. To set as default printer Highlight the printer and click Make Default - It will appear in bold
  2. To set printer name, highlight the printer and click Show Info

  1. Printer Name > Highlight the IP address and type the printer name found on the brightly colored sticker
  2. Click Apply Changes
  3. Close the windows
