Maximum E-mail Size and Attachments

Colby's mail server has a maximum allowable message size of 20 Megabytes (MB), including mail headers and all attachments. A maximum of 200 attachments per mail message is allowed.

Non-text attachments such as pictures,Word documents, and other binary files will double in size as an e-mail attachment. The reason for this bloat is that the e-mail client (MUA) has to convert the binary data stream into ASCII code before sending the message on to the MTA. This conversion is a roughly doubles the size of the binary attachment. So, Colby's message size limit will only allow to mail a binary attachment about 10 MB in size.

E-mail is not a good method for bulk file transfers between computers.  Use Colby's dropbox service to transfer files.
