Click on the Start button > "Devices and Printers"
Click the "Add a printer" button
Click on "Add a local printer"
Click on "Create a new port", select "Standard TCP/IP Port" in the dropdown list, and click Next
Enter the printer name found on the brightly colored sticker on the printer and click Next
(One example for the name: ARTL_B131_1.printers.colby.edu)
In the "Type a printer name", enter the name of the printer.
(It's best to use the same name you used for the port to keep names straight)
Select "Do not share this printer" and click Next
Verifyt that you added the correct printer and click Next
(You should avoid "Set as the default printer" or "Print a test page". The former since you might forget and send a page to the printer by mistake. The latter option wastes paper).
You can add more printers by following these steps and using the printer name located on each public printer.
