Macintosh OSX - SFTP using Fugu

 Fugu is a secure FTP program that allows you to transfer your files to the Colby web server, colby0. To upload files to your Colby personal directory, you must first activate it. To upload files to a Colby department directory, you must first get permission to access the directory by filling out the Web Project request form.

  1. Launch Fugu from the Applications folder
  2. Enter Connect to: colby0
  3. Enter your network username
  4. Click Connect

  1. Enter your network password
  2. Click Authenticate

  1. The left-hand column displays files on your computer, the right-hand column displays files on the web server
  2. To upload to your personal directory double click on public_html
    • If you have permission to upload to a department directory it would be listed here
    • Double click on the department folder to upload to it

  1. On the left-hand side, browse to the file you want to upload
  2. Drag the file from the left-hand column to the right-hand column
  3. Transfer is complete

To retain the proper file permissons on transfer

  1. On the Menu Bar > Fugu > Preferences
  2. On the Toolbar click Transfers
  3. Check "Retain permissions and access..."
