Open Forums Planned for Presidential Search

The Presidential Search Committee plans two open forums on campus, designed to gather information about the critical issues facing the College and about the desired attributes of the next president. The forums will be held on Thursday, March 14, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., in the Parker-Reed Room of the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center.

In addition to the forums, representatives of the committee will provide opportunities to meet with them in smaller groups in the next several weeks, and you should watch your email for announcements about those meetings. Also, the committee will provide a link to a survey to which you and everyone in the wide Colby community will have access, and we will receive comment through this website.

The committee has retained Storbeck/Pimentel as our search consultant. Shelly Weiss Storbeck will serve as lead, assisted by Susan Basalla May. They, too, will visit campus and reach out to various off-campus constituencies to help them in their work.

An advance thank you to everyone who participates in the forums and smaller meetings and takes the time to fill out the survey and send comment via the web form. Every point of engagement matters, especially in so important a task.

I look forward to seeing you in March. Please look for more information from Sally Baker, our committee staff, closer to the 14th.

Sincerely,

Michael L. Gordon ‘66
Chair, Presidential Search Committee
