Colby College offers a wide range of cultural and recreational amenities to our guests and visitors during the summer. For a closer look at the campus, please visit the campus map. Hours of operation listed below are for summer only.
Located in the Bixler Art and Music Center, Colby's art museum is the largest in Maine. Founded in 1959 and now comprising four wings, more than 6,000 works, and more than 28,000 square feet of exhibition space, the Colby College Museum of Art has built a significant permanent collection that specializes in American and contemporary art. Athletic Facilities and Fitness Center
Our state-of-the-art fitness center, with selectorized and free-weight equipment, is open and monitored for on-campus registrants and family members over 16 years of age (a pass will be issued at check-in). The College has five squash courts, 10 all-weather outdoor tennis courts, an all-weather eight-lane track as well as an indoor track and swimmers will enjoy the indoor Olympic-size swimming pool. We have miles of walking and cross-country running trails that wind through the wooded areas of our 714-acre campus. Joggers and walkers may begin their exercise on campus paths, continue on Colby's cross-country trails, and explore popular routes throughout the surrounding area. There is an ATM machine located in Cotter Union, open from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Bicycle RentalsWe have bikes for rent! You can rent a bicycle and helmet for $25 for a half day or $40 for the whole day. Please inquire at the Information Desk.
Located in Cotter Union, Seaverns Bookstore carries books, magazines, Colby souvenirs and sundry items. For more information about the Bookstore, please click here.
Children's ActivitiesFor our short-term continuing medical education participants living on campus, we have closely supervised morning activities planned for different age groups. The recreation program is for children ages 6-12 and the play school is for toilet-trained tots ages 2-5. We also have a list of babysitters so families can make their own arrangements for other times.
Public computer labs are offered in the Lovejoy building on the 4th floor as well as the Diamond building on the 3rd floor.
Washers and dryers are located in each residence hall. Detergent may be purchased at the Information Desk or the bookstore. All machines operate on a card system. Laundry cards are at the Information Desk in Cotter.
Located at the heart of the Colby College campus, Miller Library offers approximately one million volumes and many periodicals and newspapers from around the country. The library offers an area to study as well as wireless service on the ground level known as "The Street". For more information about Miller Library, please click here.

The entire 714-acre Colby campus is a State Wildlife Management Area. Colby's Perkins Arboretum on the east side of the campus is a 128-acre wildlife refuge used as an outdoor laboratory and also has cross-country running and ski trails. Please inquire about walking tours of the Arboretum at the Information Desk.
