General Guidelines for Weddings at Colby

Bride or Groom must fulfill one of the following requirements:

  • Colby graduate
  • Son/daughter of a Colby graduate
  • Colby employee/retiree
  • Son/daughter of a Colby employee/retiree

Special events allowed: 

  • Weddings
  • Receptions
  • Rehearsal dinners or brunches
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah (Religious events)
  • 25th, 35th, 40th, 50th wedding anniversaries (if calendar allows)

Special events not allowed:

  • Birthday parties
  • Bridal or baby showers
  • General parties

Facilities are booked on a first-come, first serve basis. Special events during the academic year are limited to those times when students are on break.

Please note that due to the uncertainty of the College's summer construction schedule, the college is unable to reserve facilities more than one year in advance. Each year, a waiting list is assembled with a first and second choice of dates held. Once the construction schedule is set (mid-October), Scheduling will contact those on the waiting list to solidify a date for the coming summer.
