A Shepherd's Journey: The Story of Israel's First Bedouin Diplomat

Ishamel Khaldi, the first Bedouin member of the Israeli Foreign Service, will discuss his journey from a shepherd in Northern Israel to a top adviser in the Israeli Foreign Ministry.  He will discuss the complexity of working for the Israeli government while fighting government-sponsored discrimination against Israel's Arab minorities.
