Commencement
Commencement usually takes place the Sunday after finals in late May. Students may participate in Commencement only if they have successfully completed all of the degree requirements (see Graduation Requirements). If a student is lacking a few credits that will be finished during the summer, he or she can participate in all parts of graduation week except Commencement. Those who complete requirements during the summer will get their diplomas in the mail no sooner than October 1. If a student finishes his or her graduation requirements at mid-year, he or she must wait until the following May to receive his or her diploma, but in the meantime can get an official statement verifying that he/she has completed all degree requirements.
