Internships
The Office of Career Services has information about a variety of internships, many offered by alumni, parents, and other Colby friends. Students may choose to do internships in January, but it also is possible to gain such experience during the semester or over the summer.  While Colby does not offer academic credit for internships, January credit and transcript notation are available by registering the internship with Career Services, obtaining a faculty sponsor, and developing a proposal that is then approved by the internship coordinator. Students will need to see the internship coordinator in Career Services (ext. 4140), and submit an application in advance of the deadlines: December 1 (for Jan Plan and spring semester) and May 1 (for the summer and fall semester). Forms for approval are processed online via the Career Services Web site.
