The Digest of Civil Discourse is a service to the student body. The intent is to provide an easily accessible way for students to communicate with each other via the on-campus Internet. All students are automatically enrolled in the digest, but may unsubscribe at any time. All College policies, including the policy on harassment, are in effect in regard to the digest, including the disciplinary options, described in the student handbook. The dean of students’ staff have access to all student digests and occasionally weigh in to correct misinformation. In the pursuit of free speech, there is a great deal of latitude for expression on the digest. Therefore, it is possible some will be offended by the commentaries that are posted. Any student who wishes may unsubscribe. If a student believes any of the policies in the student handbook have been violated, then the student should consult with someone in the dean of students’ office for possible adjudication through campus disciplinary channels. |
