Sexual Misconduct Policies Dear Campus Community, The personal health and safety of all members of the Colby community is the College's highest priority. To this end, we take a proactive approach using education, prevention, and response efforts to protect every member of our community. We can, through these efforts, foster a respectful environment that furthers the educational and professional endeavors of all members of our community. Colby is committed to eradicating all forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexual violence on our campus. However, it is important to remember that a single campus constituency cannot eradicate sexual misconduct on its own. Sexual violence and harassment on campus affects everyone. As such, the entire campus community must work together collectively to create a safer environment in which all members can live, work, and learn. Together, we can create a community where sexual assault, domestic violence, and relationship violence has no place. We encourage you to review Colby's policies outlined in this book, on the Colby website, and in the Student Handbook. We encourage you to be knowledgeable about the support resources available, and to use the resources on campus to prevent and address sexual violence and harassment. We encourage you to seek support if needed and to take comfort in the knowledge that you have choices and options. Please don't hesitate to ask for support and guidance. Most sincerely, Jim Terhune Click here for the brouchure "A Guide to Eradicating, Understanding, and Responding to Sexual Violence."
