There are abundant opportunities for Colby students to obtain help when they need it. Supportive relationships are formed with mentors on the faculty or administration. Hall staff (carefully selected upperclass students) and resident faculty members are part of residential life at Colby and are eager to assist students who need advice or a sympathetic ear. Additional faculty members and administrators make themselves available to students through their association with a residence hall and a Commons.

Each new student has a faculty advisor ready to assist with schedule planning and with problems that may arise after the semester gets underway. Classroom instructors are eager to help students who may need guidance in understanding the concepts, methods, or requirements of their courses.

General study skills advice and special services are available through the Office of the Dean of Students, and the Health Center has a range of counseling services.
