Leadership Opportunities

Voting student representatives sit on virtually every official College committee, including subcommittees of the Board of Trustees, and the Student Government Association president and vice president attend trustee meetings as official representatives. Through the committee structure, students have a role in selecting new professors and reviewing academic affairs. The Student Government Association and Social Programming Board provide many other opportunities for students to take important roles in shaping campus life.

Developing Leaders
In 2005 the Office of Student Activities launched the Emerging Leaders Program, a national program designed to recognize potential leaders among students and to develop their skills and abilities. The program helps students determine their leadership styles, develops communication and management skills, and explores diversity, group dynamics, and networking.
