Do you know without a doubt that Colby is the perfect college for you? If so, apply Early Decision and minimize the time you’ll have to wait for an admissions decision. You can still apply to other colleges under Regular Decision, but once you are admitted to Colby (!!!) you’ll need to withdraw all other applications.
Colby offers students two Early Decision choices: ED I (fall option) and ED II (winter option). What’s the difference? Basically only the application timeline:
- Did you decide early in the fall that you want to be a Colby Mule? Great! Indicate Early Decision I on your application and submit your completed app by November 15. We’ll let you know by December 15 if you’ve been admitted.
- Still trying to narrow down your options? You have until January 1 to apply as an ED II applicant. You’ll hear from us by February 15.
- Have you already applied Regular Decision but want to convert your app to Early Decision instead? If you filed your application prior to the deadlines of November 15 or January 1, you can convert your application to Early Decision by submitting a signed Early Decision Agreement prior to December 1, in the case of ED I, or by January 30 at 5 p.m. EST, in the case of ED II.
Keep in mind that if you decide to apply as an Early Decision candidate, you’ll need to submit a signed Common Application Early Decision Agreement, stating your intent to enroll at Colby upon being admitted.
