Information for Candidates An Early Decision candidate may file regular applications to other colleges with the understanding that they be withdrawn if he or she is admitted to Colby under Early Decision. Students who are not admitted under Early Decision are reconsidered without prejudice under the regular plan. Early Decision candidates who wish to apply for financial aid must submit the Colby Aid Application or CSS Profile by the required filing deadlines. - ED I, Fall Option - This option is for students who decide early in the fall that Colby is their first choice. All application materials must be postmarked by November 15. Candidates will be notified of admission decisions and estimated financial aid awards by December 15.
- ED II, Winter Option - This option is for students who decide later in their college search that Colby is their first choice. These students must submit application materials by January 1 and will be notified of admission and estimated financial aid awards by February 1.
If you apply early to Colby, you must carefully read and submit the Common Application Early Decision Agreement. A student may convert a regular decision application to Early Decision (winter option) any time up until noon on January 29 by submitting the Colby supplement with an Early Decision commitment.
