In 1813 Colby’s founders pooled their resources, and the College was born. Collectively the founders were able to open doors that none of them could have opened alone. As we approach our bicentennial in 2013, their vision continues to open doors for students, sustained by generations of Colby alumni.

Beginning this year, we will launch the Bicentennial Challenge for alumni, with the goal of elevating our alumni participation rate to 50 percent or higher by 2013. The challenge will ask each donor to make a two-year pledge to the Colby Fund leading up to the bicentennial.

Just as the original founders of Colby pooled their gifts to create something larger than the sum of its parts, so will Colby Fund donors in the Bicentennial Challenge.

Together, we can open doors of discovery for the next generation of Colby students.
