- Every gift is a measure of Colby’s success. Colby’s alumni participation rate is compared to other colleges by prospective students, their parents, and college guides. Every gift from an alum—including yours—bolsters Colby’s reputation.
- Every $1 gift to the Colby Fund has the buying power of $25 to the endowment. The Colby Fund is the living endowment. For each $1 of annual support Colby receives, the College needs $25 in endowment to generate an equivalent amount of income.
- Every gift helps Colby raise money. Corporations and foundations, which provide millions of dollars in support, consider the alumni participation rate more than total dollars raised when making their award decisions.
- As part of the Colby Fund, unrestricted reunion gifts help cover the annual costs of running the College that are not fully covered by tuition, fees, or endowment income. The cost of the Colby experience per student is nearly $200 a day, or about $72,000 a year.
We encourage you to make your gift before May 25 in order for your gift to count in the Celebrate Colby presentation during Reunion Weekend.
