The Alumni Council

Dear Fellow Colby Alumni/ae, Volunteering at Colby has been a tremendously rewarding experience for me, and I am honored to serve as the chair of the Alumni Council. The Alumni Council’s mission is to strengthen relations between the College and its alumni and to promote fellowship and pride of affiliation among Colby alumni. In some ways our work is easy because every Colby alumnus/a that I meet has an overwhelmingly positive memory of his or her days on Mayflower Hill and is proud of the strides that Colby has made as an institution. In order for Colby and its students to continue to make progress, we rely heavily on our alumni/ae volunteer network to fill a variety of needs. The Alumni Council, a group of approximately 35 dedicated alumni/ae, volunteer their time, thought leadership, problem solving, professional expertise, and financial support to further the mission of the College. We are always looking for new Alumni Council members, so please contact me if you are interested in learning more. The Alumni Council supports Colby in many ways. Whether it’s finding an internship for a student, helping alumni/ae build their professional networks (check us out on LinkedIn), attending on-campus/regional events, or working with administration and faculty to tackle a key issue facing the College, the Alumni Council helps ensure the Colby experience is there for current and future students. Ensuring the continuation of the Colby tradition you and I have enjoyed and benefited from in so many ways is why the Alumni Council actively supports the Colby Fund and advocates 100 percent participation. I hope you will join me in making a gift, small or large, to Colby this year. The Alumni Council also helps identify alumni/ae who want to volunteer, on or off campus. Volunteer opportunities range from recruiting and interviewing prospective students and attending on-campus Career Connections Weekend events, to participating in a phonathon for the Colby Fund.
