Beth Brown Turner '63
Beth Brown Turner is a playwright and coordinator of student advisement and special programs instructor in drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She also is founding publisher of Black Masks, a bi-monthly magazine covering Black theatre and other performing, literary, and visual arts. A New York City native, Beth has written and produced at least five plays in New York and Washington, D.C., at such theaters as the New Federal Theatre, National Black Theatre, Lincoln Center Outdoors, and Smithsonian's Discovery Theater. Beth holds an M.A. from New York University's School of Education and Human Relations. She has served on Colby's Board of Trustees, as an overseer, and on the Alumni Council.
